~*~*~ you are my sunshines~*~*~*~

Music is such a universal language, it can make you happy, it can make you sad. Its also can bring families and friends together for fun.

"You are My Sunshine" is a happy song that has been around for many years. I would like to share with you a "happy" story, pertaining to this song.

According to the internet, this story is about one of the many developmentally disabled people that the author have the honor to work with. the author call her Mary to protect her identity.Mary was born with "downs Syndrome"...

her family send her to the agency that the author work. When Mary came to the agency, she did not communicate, except for answer "yes", "no', "i don't know".One night the author went into her room and she was sitting on her bed watching the "Statler Brothers Show" on TV. the author sat down with her to watch. They started singing "You are my Sunshine", and surprisely, Mary sang every word of the song with them. it brought tears to the author eyes and they continued watching the show and singing right along with them.. Start from that moment, the author and the other nurse worked hard for Mary...

It wasn't long after that she began communicating in "real" sentences. The author found out later that her Mother sang that song to her all her life. It just proves that with the help of music, and a lot of loving care, miracles do happen.........
